David J. Jones MA (Oxon) DipLib PhD (UNSW) FALIA writes on library history and planning. His monographs include six editions of The Australian dictionary of acronyms and abbreviations and histories of the Australian Institute of Librarians and the State Library of New South Wales. As Library Building Consultant he liaised closely with the Sarawak authorities during the planning and construction of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak. He worked at the State Library of New South Wales from 1970 to 2008 and is now an independent researcher. In 2017 he was presented with the H. C. L.
